Deposition Characteristics of Particles with Different Diameters in an Impingement-Effusion Structure with a Double-Wall Blade

Ingestion and deposition of fine particles on the surface coolant passage degrade blade’s cooling performance. This paper proposes a model to investigate complex characteristics during repeated collision, adhesion, rebound, removal events in small space inside typical impingement-effusion structure with double-wall blade. The results show that rarely collide wall escape directly from film hole outlet when particle diameters are smaller than 0.5 μm. Most 1.0 μm deposited after first collision around stagnation point an area 0.35 times pin-fin diameter. Some 3.0 region, but most between two pin fins near second collision. Particles larger mainly region enclosed by adjacent holes multiple collisions, rate is higher 30%. rates have same trends, exhibiting decrease followed increase increasing entering structure, especially those 0.7 -0.8 1.4 -2.4 μm, primarily target surface, resulting performance degradation double-walled
